GAME PREVIEW: Eagles ready to welcome SCSU to Paulson

The Georgia Southern football team continues non-conference play on Saturday when it hosts South Carolina State at Allen E. Paulson Stadium at Evans Family Field. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. The game will also be available via radio on the Georgia Southern Sports Network.   • This will be the ninth meeting between Georgia Southern and South Carolina in a series dating back to 1985 with the Eagles holding an 8-0 lead in the series. 
  • The last time these two teams met was in 2018 in Statesboro with the Eagles taking a 37-6 win in the season opener behind 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns from quarterback Shai Werts.
  • Georgia Southern is 5-0 against the Bulldogs in Statesboro and 3-0 against them in Orangeburg.
  • Georgia Southern is 10-0 all-time against current MEAC teams (8-0 vs. South Carolina State, 1-0 vs. Howard, and 1-0 vs. Morgan State).
