The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation department hosted Community Hero Day at the Fair Road Park on Thursday, July 1st. Children participating in the camp were treated to a visit from a few of their favorite public safety heroes.

A special treat was also provided to each camper by Missy Nelson and Wavee Shavee shaved ice.
The students received specials "badges" and fire helmets. The best part was how each of them were able to get a close up look at police cars, fire engines, ambulances and an air ambulance helicopter.
