Apartment heavily damaged by fire Sunday morning

Statesboro Fire Department and Bulloch County Fire Department responded to an apartment fire in Caribe Court Condos near the GS Campus in the city of Statesboro.

Bulloch County 911 dispatched the call at 12:55 am on Sunday morning in the 200 block of Caribe Court off of Rucker Lane.

Statesboro Police officers were the first to arrive on the scene and reported flames were coming out of the window of the apartment.

The first Statesboro Fire engine that arrive confirmed that the apartment was heavily involved in fire and all of the occupants were safely out of the home.

Firefighters had the fire under control within minutes of arrival. The home was heavily damaged.

Bulloch County American Red Cross Disaster Action Team members are providing immediate assistance to the residents.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Statesboro Fire will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation.

Bulloch County EMS responded as a precaution. There were no reported injuries.
