Statesboro and Bulloch County citizens are closer than they ever have been to grocery shopping at Publix in Statesboro again.

Due to supply chain delays that have become the norm in recent months, the Eagles Corner Publix in Statesboro is now shooting for a very early December opening. This is a slight shift from the previous estimate of mid-November.

Contractors have paved the parking lot and are working on the landscaping for the shopping center. The construction crews are working hard to complete the interior of the building. The workers assure us that the delay will be well worth the wait.

New businesses announced in shopping center

Since our last update, Watkins Real Estate Group has announced some additional tenants for the complex. Huey Magoo's will be a freestanding outparcel along Tormenta Way, near the intersection with Old Register Road. The Southern chain is known for its chicken tenders, which it also serves in sandwiches, wraps, and salads. It will be a locally owned franchise.

Tidal Wave Auto Spa will also add a freestanding location behind the Publix, and Lendmark Financial has leased a space within the complex.

Previously announced tenants for Eagles Corner include Great Clips, Grand Nail Lounge, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Stella Boutique, and Orangetheory Fitness.

The remaining outparcel is under contract, and its tenant will be announced soon.
