This will be a multi-part series highlighting some of the activities of students in Bulloch County’s Career Technical & Agricultural Education (CTAE) program. All information is provided by Bulloch County Schools.
The purpose of Bulloch County Schools’ Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) program is to prepare students for successful careers and build an educated, skilled, and efficient workforce for economic growth in Bulloch County.
The system’s career clusters, career pathways and student technical organizations are the core of CTAE. The classroom instruction and student-led chapters of national technical organizations help the school system leverage partnerships with local businesses, industries, and institutes of higher learning. This helps our youth explore options, learn new skills, and apply those skills in their careers.

Early Childhood Education students present puppet show for Pre-K
Students in Charity Masters‘s Early Childhood Education class at Southeast Bulloch High School performed a puppet show for Stacey Cowart’s pre-kindergarten pupils in the school’s Media Center.
Prior to the performance, high school students worked to design and create several puppet show stations. Pre-K students were able to visit each station in groups to experience a real-life puppet show.
Early Childhood Education and Teaching as a Profession are two career pathway options for students who are interested in careers in education and training fields.
The Pre-K classes at SEBHS and Statesboro High School provide Early Childhood Education and Teaching as a Profession students a learning lab to prepare lessons.
Teaching as a Profession students gain experience in local elementary schools
High school students in the Teaching as a Profession career pathway can be placed in elementary schools in our school district as practicum or work-based learning students.
Aaliyah Lonon, a third-year Teaching as a Profession student, completed her placement at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School. Aaliyah also worked at JPBES earning extra hours for her Work-Based Learning credit. Aaliyah believes that she has gained valuable experience in the school setting in preparation for her future career in education.
