Aspiring entrepreneurs, get your pitches ready! Savannah SCORE’s BizPitch Savannah 2022 Entrepreneurial Competition is coming soon. BizPitch Savannah is a kinder, gentler version of TV’s “Shark Tank.”
Now in its fifth year, the event offers aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. Successful pitches have a chance to win cash and free professional business services valued at more than $10,000 to help them launch their new local businesses. Winning entrepreneurs must agree to open their business in Chatham County.
Georgia Southern’s Dr. Dominique Halaby, Associate Provost for Innovation and Commercialization and Founding Director of the Business Innovation Group (BIG), is on this year’s judging panel.
Savannah SCORE will begin accepting applications from local entrepreneurs on Sept. 9.
The full rules and requirements for the competition are available on the website. The deadline for submitting applications is Oct. 3.
Applicants’ businesses can either be a new start-up or have obtained a Chatham County business license after July 31, 2021. Applicants must agree to locate their new business in Chatham County and launch their new business no later than January 1, 2024.
A non-refundable $25 application fee is payable at the time the application is submitted.
Eight finalists will be selected to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges on November 16 from 4pm to 6:30pm, and three winners will be selected. The public can attend at no charge.
