Mr. Earl Martin Munsey, age 89, died on Sunday July 31st 2022 at Ogeechee Area Hospice inpatient facility.
Earl was born on November 18th 1932 in Jonesville, VA to the late Dan Munsey and Mrs. Glessie Hedrick Munsey. At a young age his family moved to Mitchell, IN where he was raised and attended high school.
Following school, Earl joined the United States Navy and served 4 years during the Korean War. He lived in California for several years where he worked for BF Goodrich and met his wife, Audrey Wood Munsey. They moved to Tucker, Georgia in 1976 where he was regional supervisor for BF Goodrich and after retirement, moved to Statesboro in 1997 to be closer to family. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Catherine Munsey.
He is survived by his three children, Kurt Munsey of Loganville, GA, Kim Berry, and Kent Munsey, both of Statesboro, 4 grandchildren, Nolan, Jennifer, Londyn, and Isabelle, and two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Treva Cooper of Texas and Linda Richards of Indiana.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 3rd in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Smith officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service.
