Duplex damaged by fire Saturday morning in Statesboro

Bulloch County 911 dispatched the Statesboro and Bulloch County fire departments to a duplex fire at 9:13 am on Saturday, August 6th on Pine Street in the city of Statesboro.

Statesboro Police officers were the first to arrive on the scene and reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.

Statesboro Fire fighters presented a rapid and aggressive attack on the fire in the cinder block structure and brought the fire under control within minutes of arrival.

It is believed that a car close to the structure caught fire and it spread to the duplex.

Statesboro Fire responded with three engines and a tower truck. Bulloch County fire responded with two engines to assist as well.

The duplex appeared to sustain heavy smoke and fire damage.

Bulloch County EMS responded to the scene as a precaution. There were no injuries reported.
