Marilyn McBride Cochran

Marilyn McBride Cochran, 77, of Sylvania passed Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Optim Medical Center Screven.

Marilyn obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University.

She retired from pharmacy with 42 years of service, having been employed with Westside Urban Health Center in Savannah and Indian Reservations of the Navajo Nation in Kayenta, AZ and Shiprock, NM. Afterwards, she and her husband returned home to the family farm in Screven County. She was an avid reader, card player, and enjoyed genealogy. She was a member of the Colonial Dame Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, and Garden Club of Sylvania. She and her husband always enjoyed attending McDonald Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Sam L. Cochran III of Sylvania, daughter and fiancé, Christine Cuyler Cochran and Michael Anderson; granddaughters, Erin Elizabeth Caldwell and Alyssa Danielle Caldwell, all of Wilmington Island; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Anderson of Sylvania and Ellen Lee Cochran of Greensboro, NC.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening July 29 from 5:00-7:00pm in Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00am at McDonald Baptist Church with Dr. John Parker officiating. Mrs. Cochran will lie in state for an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the Screven Memorial Cemetery.
