One Injured in Bulloch County House Fire

Bulloch County 911 dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch Fire Departments along with Bulloch County EMS and Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies to a Bulloch house fire in the Wedgefield Subdivision at 10:45 am on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Wedgefield is located off of Old Harville Road within the five mile fire radius of Statesboro.

The first fire engine on the scene at the home on Fieldcrest Court was Statesboro Fire Departments' Engine 3. Firefighters reported a small kitchen fire and began an immediate attack.

The firefighters had the house fire out in minutes, but the home appeared to have moderate smoke, water and fire damage.

The quick response and rapid fire suppression prevented the home from more severe damage.

A 16 year old male was treated at the scene and transported by Bulloch County EMS to EGRMC with non-life threatening injuries sustained in the fire.

Firefighters remained on the scene for a little over an hour completing an overhaul of the fire area.

Statesboro Fire Department will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation.
