Bulloch County 911 dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 4:59 pm to a Hwy 301 South apartments fire in the 8,000 block of Hwy 301 South. The apartments are located behind Buddy’s Truck Stop on 301 South.

The first firefighters on the scene reported heavy fire involvement in one duplex apartment at the rear of the apartment complex.

They confirmed that everyone was out of the apartments.

Bulloch County Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the heavily involved wooden structure and were able to contain the fire to the duplex.

The duplex received heavy fire, smoke and water damage.

There were no injuries reported.

American Red Cross Disaster Action Team responded to the scene along with with Statesboro Fire Departments CAFE responded to assist the victims of the fire and to refresh firefighters.

Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Deputies and GSP also responded to the scene to assist firefighters.

Firefighters remain on the scene at the time this story was published.
