Co-Owners Al Chapman and Kaleo Lyles team at Gnat's Landing, 470 South Main, are at it again this time with a major addition to the restaurant that is certain to grab attention on the Blue Mile. They are taking advantage of the Blue Mile construction to accomplish some renovations to the restaurant.

The biggest changes are on the exterior of the building where they are updating the exterior facade of the building and adding a two story deck. They demolished the old covered deck and are constructing a new two story deck.

The new deck will include a covered second story with a bar and TV's that will be a place for guest to hang out while they are waiting on a table. The bottom deck will include the much needed addition of restrooms.

They are also renovating the interior restrooms and freshening up the entire restaurant. However, there will be no significant changes to the interior.

Even though the changes will not increase seating capacity, it will enhance the customer experience.

The restaurant will continue to operate through the renovations. Their goal is to have all the renovations complete by September 1, 2022 to welcome back Georgia Southern University, East Georgia State College and Ogeechee Technical College students.

Chapman and Lyles retained the services of Statesboro and Savannah based companies to bring their vision to life including:

  • Architect - DPR Architecture
  • Structural Engineer - Saussy Engineering
  • Civil Engineer - EMC Engineering Services
  • General Contractor - C. Merrill Construction

Del Sur Taqueria & Cantina

Del Sur, directly across the street is owned by Chapman and Lyles as well. They are also adding much needed bathrooms to that restaurant during this construction project.

The second location of Del Sur at 1 North Godley Station Bouvard in Pooler is a couple of weeks away from opening.
