The following is a summary of motions entertained and business conducted during Tuesday’s regular meeting of the Statesboro City Council.

  • Approved a Package Distilled Spirits location reservation in accordinace with City of Statesboro Alcohol Ordinance Chapter 6-12(a) and 6-23(h) to GATA Package, LLC, DBA “GATA Package” – Tormenta Way, Statesboro, GA 30458
  • Approved Resolution 2022-17: A resolution approving the application for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and commitment of matching funds
  • Approved Resolution 2022-18: A resolution authorizing the destruction of certain municipal records
  • Approved Resolution 2022-19: A resolution amending the 2019 Service Delivery Strategy agreement with Bulloch County
    • This amendment is necessary to meet the requirements for the aforementioned CDBG application.
  • Approved Resolution 2022-20: A resolution to re-establish the Downtown Statesboro Incentive Program
    • Allows for the waiver of up to $25k in fees for business owners who complete construction or improvements downtown
    • The motion, as approved, is retroactive to 2/2/2022 – the date of expiry for the original program
    • The motion also allows for reimbursement of nearly $18k in fees assessed since the program expired
  • Approved a motion to award a contract for digital review software to iWorq Systems, Inc., in the amount of $35,000
    • Allows for the implementation of an electronic permitting process for the City.
