UPDATE: 7:21 pm 4-24/22: On 4/23/22 at 6:47 p.m. SPD officers were dispatched to Pinewood Manor Apartments
on Packinghouse Road in Statesboro for a male shot at that location.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 26 year old De’onta Trowel-Mosteller behind an apartment block deceased. Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area as well to assist in
securing the outdoor scene.
Detectives responded to begin the criminal investigation. The investigation indicates that there were multiple individuals in close proximity to the incident. Detectives are asking them to come forward and offer their observations to further the investigation.
Management at Pinewood Manor has provided all possible assistance to detectives.

Statesboro Police Department and Bulloch County Sheriff's Officers responded to a shooting in the Pinewood Manor apartment complex off of Packinghouse Road in the City of Statesboro around 7 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
When officers arrived on the scene they discovered one person had been shot and requested Bulloch County EMS to the scene. EMS determined on arrival that the person had been killed.
Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch was requested to the scene of the Saturday shooting. Corner Futch confirmed that a 26 year old man has deceased. The name is being withheld until notification of family is complete.
