Verizon wireless has experienced a major outage which is effecting a large number of Verizon cell customers in Georgia including Statesboro and Bulloch County.

According to the website downdetector which crowdsources outages from Verizon customers the problem began around 2:40 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2022. Up to 90% of the customers in the affected areas, which include Statesboro and Bulloch County, are reporting no cell signal at all which means no calls, no data or text.

Sources are telling Grice Connect that a critical switch station in the Alpharetta, Georgia area had a power issue and the backup generator has also failed.

Verizon support released a statement around 4:00 PM that said they are working to resolve the issue, which could take up to 12-14 hours.

Verizon recommends enabling WiFi calling via a secure WiFi source.
