A Portal Middle High School (PMHS), located in Portal, Georgia, student is in custody after an alleged verbal threat was made against the school during classes on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

The school will continue to operate as scheduled on Friday, January 14, 2022.

The alleged verbal threat was made in the presence of a Portal Middle High School faculty member, who reported it to school administrators and the school resource officer.

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged the juvenile student.

School administrators notified PMHS parents about the incident earlier in the evening using the district’s electronic messaging system. Bulloch County Schools encourages all students to report threats or suspicious activity in a timely manner. 

This is the third Bulloch County Schools student taken into custody after alleged threats against their schools.

It is important for students and parents to know that the school district and local law enforcement take all threats seriously. Those who make threats of any kind against individuals or our schools will be held accountable.
