Bulloch County 911 dispatched Bulloch County EMS and Statesboro Fire and Rescue to a single vehicle crash on Old Register road around 11:30 AM, Saturday, October 16, 2021.
The crash occurred south of Joiner Place mobile home park on a sharp curve. Old Register Road was closed at the accident scene for several hours while the accident scene was investigated by the Coroner and the Georgia State Patrol.
The driver of a four door Jeep Wrangler left the roadway in the curve and overturned, killing the driver on impact.
Bulloch County Corner Jake Futch identified the driver as Stephen Barrier, 44 from Richmond Hill, Georgia. According to Mr. Barrier's social media profile, he was retired from the U.S. Army.
Bulloch County Sheriff's office responded and helped with traffic control.
Georgia State Patrol is handing the accident investigation.
