The East Georgia Marching Band Championships (EGMBC) allows talented and dedicated high school marching bands from across the state of Georgia and beyond to perform and compete against each other in one of the state’s longest-running marching band competitions and festivals.

Performances will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day until the awards ceremony at 9:00 p.m. Gates will open at approximately 10:00 a.m. All times are tentative pending the final schedule of performing bands. Current times will be listed at www.statesborohighband.com. Concessions will be available and local vendors will have t-shirts for sale. Admission is $8.00. Children five years old or younger are admitted free.

In addition to supporting live music and the ongoing education of young musicians, the Statesboro High School Band Boosters hosts the EGMBC as its major fundraiser for Statesboro High School’s band programs. The funds raised from the competition pay for new uniforms, instrument repairs, equipment, props, music, travel expenses to away football games, and other expenses that keep the band running and growing. The SHS Band Boosters believe that involving students and their families’ concert and marching band programs enriches students’ lives as well as enriching their schools and communities.
