For the third time, since school began on August 2, a Bulloch County School bus has been in an accident.

According to a statement from Hayley Greene, Public Relations Director for Bulloch Schools, at approximately 5 pm, Thursday, August 19 a bus accident occurred on U.S. Highway 80 East near the intersection with Veterans Memorial Parkway. 

No children were on the bus at the time of the accident, no injuries were reported at the scene, and no school district personnel were transported to the hospital.

Law enforcement and school district personnel quickly responded to the scene.

According to Janet Tanner, Transportation Director for Bulloch Schools, the school bus and a truck were both travelling east on U.S. Highway 80 when the truck allegedly pulled into the bus’ lane.

The truck hit the front end of the bus, which according to witnesses caused the truck to spin around.

Statesboro Police Department has charge of the accident investigation.
