Prominent Statesboro physician, Dr. Ruthie Crider, has been selected by the Georgia Department of Public Health (GA DPH) to be featured in their “I Said Yes” COVID vaccination marketing campaign.
GA DPH launched the statewide campaign to encourage those who may remain unvaccinated to receive the COVID vaccine.
After discussions with GA DPH, the Southeast Health District received permission to implement this campaign at a more localized level to feature local influencers in each of their sixteen counties.
"By seeing someone they know featured on these billboards and social media and seeing their “why”, we hope that those who are unvaccinated will consider receiving their COVID vaccine," said Katie Hadden, Public Information Officer, Southeast Health District.
"Instead of simply seeing a promotional advertisement, our desire is to connect personally to those who view the contents of the “I Said Yes” campaign. Across our sixteen-county health district, we will be featuring physicians, small business owners, local governmental officials, pastors, law enforcement officers, retired educators, and more."
Front Line leader in COVID response
Dr. Ruthie Crider became an early, factual and consistent voice in the battle with COVID and in our regions vaccinations efforts. Early in the pandemic she filmed a series of videos for Grice Connect to explain the virus and reassure our community.
Dr. Crider serves on the front lines as an emergency physician at EGRMC. She led the COVID response for Bulloch Academy, serves as a volunteer medical director for Bulloch County VOAD and a medical and COVID contributor to Grice Connect.
Dr. Crider along with Dr. Frank Davis helped design, monitor and implement Grice Connects daily COVID dashboard and report.

In addition, she is husband to Bill and mom to Billy and Bo, two very active boys.
Dr. Crider is personally responsible for hundreds of citizens being vaccinated throughout Georgia. She is the perfect ambassador to represent our community regarding the benefits of receiving the COVID vaccine.
