DAILY REPORT | Georgians at High Risk due to low vaccination rates

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, expressed concerns about Georgia's low vaccination rates at the Atlanta Summit on Global Health earlier in June.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director,  Dr. Rochelle Walensky, expressed concerns about Georgia's low vaccination rates at the Atlanta Summit on Global Health earlier in June. Since then, rural Georgia counties continue to report lower rates than metropolitan areas. However, larger, more populated counties also report vaccination rates under 50%. According to CovidActNow.com, Georgia only has 34.8% of citizens fully vaccinated. Bulloch reports 23.2% fully vaccinated and 25.9% having at least one dose. Lower vaccination rates across the state put Georgia citizens at risk due to COVID spikes among individuals not vaccinated.
