In typical Statesboro fashion, one good thing is never enough. Construction is underway for two different plasma collection centers in Statesboro. One will be located in the former Rite Aid building at 556 Northside Drive East and the second will be located at 520 Fair Road, Suite 320 College Plaza, beside 180 Fitness.

According to the GrifoldsPlasma website, Plasma is a vital source material for a number of plasma-derived medications that treat and prevent life-threatening diseases, illnesses and conditions. Immunotek Bio Donor Collection Center

On December 28th the former Rite Aid Building, located at 556 Northside Drive East was purchased by 556 NORTHSIDE DRIVE, LLC out of Duluth Georgia for $1,725,000.

March 25, 2021 the City of Statesboro issued a construction permit to Magellan Construction for $1.9 million in renovations to the 54,000 square foot building.

The building has been leased to Immunotek Bio Centers. According to their website they are currently operation 21 plasma donation centers and have 30 more under construction, including the Statesboro location.

BPC Plasma Collection Center

The second 12,000 square foot collection center in College Plaza has been leased to BPC Plasma Inc., A Grifols Company which owns and operates over 36 plasma donation centers across the U.S.

On March 19, 2021 the City of Statesboro issued a construction permit to E.V. Construction for $928,350 in renovations to the building.

The two companies are not connected and there is no projected time for completion of construction.
