A Bloomingdale teen was involved in a single vehicle car crash on Friday, June 11 around 5:30 PM in the Leefield community, just outside of Brooklet in Bulloch County.

Bulloch 911 dispatched Bulloch EMS, Fire, Rescue and Sheriff's deputies to a car crash on the Stilson-Leefield road almost at the intersection of the Brooklet-Leefield road.

The driver of a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck left the roadway and apparently overturning several times before the vehicle stopped on its drivers side against a line of trees.

Because of the position of the vehicle, Bulloch County Rescue had to cut the top off the truck to extricate the driver.

Bulloch EMS requested a helicopter to the scene, however due to an incoming storm, Lifestar, nor Air-Evac were able to fly.

Once extricated, the driver was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He died of injuries sustained in the crash at EGRMC.

Bulloch County Corner, Jake Futch confirmed that the Bloomingdale teen is Jacob Presley Stanfield, 19.

Georgia State Patrol is the agency that investigated the accident.

Stanfield was alone in the vehicle.

Thomas C Strickland and Sons Funeral Home is in change of the arrangements for Stanfield.

His obituary noted that Jacob Stanfield was born in Savannah, Georgia and was employed with Dark Arc Marine Fabrication in Thunderbolt.  He enjoyed listening to music, loved the outdoors, and was an avid fisherman

Grice Connect extends our condolences and prayers to the Stanfield family.
