Young Life Statesboro will host its First Annual Sporting Clays Classic May 1st at Bay Gall Sporting Clays located in Garfield, Georgia. The fundraiser is to support the local ministry’s efforts to reach kids for Christ in local high schools.

The cost to participate is $125/person or $500 for a team of four. Price includes a 100-shot course, plus lunch, gifts and awards. There will be a “Wobble Trap” side game raffle available for $25.00. Registration begins at 8:30 am and “shotgun start” begins at 9:00 am. Participants are asked to bring their own shotgun, shot gun shells, ear and eye protection, as well as a good appetite.

Young Life has been serving teens in Bulloch County for twelve years. The ministry is based on the concept of going where kids are and forming relationships with them. Young Life believes that every teen deserves the right to hear the good news of God’s love. In Statesboro, over 25 College leaders help provide fun, engaging and life changing experiences through weekly Club, Campaigners (small Bible studies) and attending winter and summer Camp. Adult Committee members serve as volunteers to support the area staff and help fund raise. Over 1000 local teens have been involved in Young Life throughout the past decade.

“Sporting Clays is a popular sport in the area and the perfect way to get outdoors and enjoy God’s masterpiece of nature,” says Committee Chair Stewart Moody. “We hope the community will come out and participate, whether you are a novice or a pro. It’s all good fun and no pressure!”
