A Statesboro Man was killed around 2:44 pm Saturday afternoon. Bulloch 911 dispatched Bulloch EMS, Fire, Rescue and Sheriff's deputies to the single vehicle accident at Pulaski Road and Jones Brothers Lane.

Witnesses said the Statesboro man was killed when his vehicle, that was traveling east on Pulaski Road, left the roadway. The truck never entered the sharp curve, instead it left the roadway and traveled for some distance before overturning several times, struck a tree and caught on fire.

From the way witnesses described the way he left the roadway it seems as if he may have had a medical condition and lost consciousness prior to the accident.

According to Bulloch County Deputy Coroner Richard Pylant, the driver of the vehicle was Amos Hodge, 63 of Statesboro. Mr. Hodge was deceased when emergency services arrived on the scene.
