LLC Little Lotts Donations

Little Lotts Creek site manager Katherine Parks was the Kiwanis fairgrounds all day Friday so the community could have a place to donate and collect items for the Little Lotts fire victims.

Parks says that at the end of the day, volunteers filled a large U-Haul "from top to bottom" with donated items given by the people of Statesboro & surrounding cities.

Parks was excited about seeing almost 100 donors on Friday at the donation site, she knows how many because she handed out thank you cards, made specifically from the Little Lotts Creek residents, to every person who came by and donated.

After the day was over, she only had a handful of cards left. Parks expressed gratitude on behalf of her residents, "the community just really showed up for these families & it's been incredible to see."

Parks explained all immediate needs have been met for clothing & shoes for women, men & children.

There was also an abundance of hygeine products, toys, kitchen items & food donated by the people in Bulloch County.

If you were not able to come Friday, donations for the Little Lotts Creek fire victims are still being accepted.

Items can be brought to the Little Lotts apartment cite. It is asked that no large furniture be brought as some families are not placed in permanent housing yet.

Items actively sought: Undergarments Gift Cards

Parks states that even with all of the clothes donated, there is still a need for undergarments. Specifically, we are mentioning unmentionables: underwear (of all sizes & ages) & bras. They have plenty of socks, but more are welcome.

If anyone is uncomfortable trying to find undergarments, please consider a gift card to a store where the families and individuals can go in and purchase those items themselves.

In addition, gas cards and other gift cards that might alleviate some financial stress for these victims are ways to continue giving if you are able.

What's Next

All items are in storage at a donated storage facility. After donations are sorted & organized, families will get items based on specific needs. As mentioned previously, donations are still being accepted at the Little Lotts apartment office (no large furniture).
