Dublin High Principal Dr. Jaroy Stuckey, his pregnant wife Elisa and their three year old son A.J. were killed in an early afternoon accident near exit 137 on I-16 westbound in Bulloch County according to Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch. Futch also confirmed that Elisa was pregnant with their second child and was due in May. Dr. Suckey and his wife Elisa were both in their early 30's.

According to Georgia State Patrol, a tractor-trailer towing a tanker was driving westbound on I-16 in the right lane and rear-ended the Stuckey's vehicle which caught on fire.

The impact of the truck pushed Stuckey's car into the rear of another tractor trailer and sideswiped a fourth vehicle according to the GSP report.

The Stuckey family were pronounced dead at the scene.

There was one person in the tanker, two people in the tractor-trailer, and it is unknown at this time how many people were in the fourth vehicle.

Traffic had slowed on the westbound lane due to an officer involved shooting of an abduction suspect which had crashed his car at exit 132 as the result of a high speed chase.

I-16 westbound lanes were closed from exit 137 (119) and exit 132 (Ash Branch) for several hours while GSP investigators completed the accident investigation.

Dublin City Schools released this statement earlier today:

Georgia State Patrol, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Bulloch County Fire Department and Georgia Department of Transportation all assisted with the accident.

Grice Connect would like to extend condolences to the Stuckey family and Dublin High School staff and students.
