Bulloch County Bus Driver Uninjured in Morning Accident - VIDEO

A Bulloch County bus driver took a wild ride in an empty school bus this morning on Brooklet-Denmark road in eyesight of Southeast Bulloch High school.

A Bulloch County bus driver took a wild ride in an empty school bus this morning on Brooklet-Denmark road in eyesight of Southeast Bulloch High school. The driver was traveling east when, according to witnesses on the scene, the driver experienced a medical issue which caused him to black out momentarily. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

The driver crossed over the opposite lane on the road, left the roadway and traveled several hundred feed in a ditch before coming to a stop. The driver did not receive any injuries from the accident, but was transported by Bulloch County EMS to EGRMC for evaluation.

There does not appear to be severe damage to the bus. There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.

Hayley Greene, Public Relations Director with Bulloch County Schools released a brief statement after the accident, "Today, after morning bus routes were complete, one of our buses had a single vehicle accident on Brannen Pond Road.  No students were on the bus. Early reports from the school district's Transportation Department director indicate that the driver ran off the road and into a ditch and field.  Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene to evaluate the cause of the accident and aid the driver."

In addition to Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch Fire and Rescue responded to the scene along with Bulloch County Sheriff Deputies and GSP. GSP is investigating the accident.
