Bulloch County will host its Swearing In Ceremonies for the Elected Officials on Monday, December 28 outside the Bulloch County Courthouse on the lawn facing Synovus Bank. If any guest need a chair, please bring one, there will be limited seating available.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be four separate ceremonies:

  • 9:00 am –  Incumbents: Judge June Braswell, Sheriff Noel Brown, Surveyor John Dotson & County Commissioners: Chairman Roy Thompson, Ray Mosley, Jappy Stringer and Curt Deal
  • 1:00 pm –Daphne Totten, District Attorney & Catherine Findley, Solicitor
  • 3:00 pm – Leslie Akins, Tax Commissioner

There are some incumbent officials who have chosen to be sworn-in individually and privately by Judge DeLoach.

While it is a public ceremony, we are obligated to follow the purpose and intent of Governor Kemp’s Executive Oder pertaining to gatherings. We have allotted a few spaces for media personnel near the Jurors Area.

In addition, temperatures will be taken by Court Security to gain entrance.  Masks will be required unless there is a medical or religious reason for not doing so. Social distancing is encouraged elsewhere in congregating and seating to the extent possible.  Sanitation stations will be available.  Also, between ceremonies the courtroom and public areas will be sanitized.
