Tuesday evening, September 8th, Statesboro will be one of three cities in Georgia hosting Amazon Studios’ simultaneous drive-in premieres celebrating the theatrical release of ALL IN: THE FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY.
Bulloch Ag Arena Transformed into a Drive-In Theater
Amazon Studios is making a significant investment in building out a realistic, Pop-Up Drive-In at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex (44 Arena Boulevard) for the Tuesday, September 8th premiere. The premiere is FREE but you must register online here for a ticket to enter. Gates open at 7 PM and the movie starts at 8:30 PM. Every car entering will also get a FREE concession box. They will have a security team and medical team on site and are following strict CDC COVID-19 protocols.
University Town Role in Selection for “All In” Premiere
The organizers explained that the city of Statesboro is home to vibrant education, manufacturing, and agribusiness sectors. Statesboro and Georgia Southern University represent some of the best of Georgia.
Additional reasons they cited are the facts that Georgia Southern University is a national leader, being one of the nation’s top eco-friendly campuses that has ranked in the top 5% of schools for gender diversity, and one of the most military friendly campuses in the country.
They are excited about the energy of Georgia Southern University student leaders and their potential to rally the campus and wider community around exercising their right to vote. They hope to showcase this campus- and community-wide leadership by example, as students across the nation work to navigate voter education and mobilization during this unprecedented time. They understand the need to support and engage young people in this and every election.
The movie features prominent political figure and former Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives Stacey Abrams. In anticipation of the 2020 presidential election, ALL IN: THE FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY examines the often overlooked—yet insidious—issue of voter suppression in the United States. The film interweaves personal experiences with current activism and historical insight to expose a problem that has corrupted our democracy from the very beginning. With Stacey Abrams’ perspective and expertise, the documentary offers an insider’s look into voting laws and barriers that—although most people don’t even know it—threaten their basic rights as citizens of the United States.
ALL IN: THE FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY will open in select theaters on Wednesday, Sept. 9 and Amazon Prime Video on September 18.
