Founded by Statesboro’s Karl Peace, Ph.D.

The Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium (BASS), founded by Statesboro resident Karl E. Peace, Ph.D., Fellow of the American Statistical Association, provides (1) a forum for pharmaceutical and medical researchers and regulators to share timely information concerning the application of biostatistics in pharmaceutical environments; and (2) funding to support graduate studies in Biostatistics.

Scholarships from Symposium Helps Over 100 Students

Since Peace founded BASS in 1994 (for the purpose of raising funds to support graduate work in biostatistics), BASS revenues have enabled over 100 students to complete their Masters of Doctorate degree in biostatistics.

Peace created KEP BASS endowments at Georgia Southern University – for biostatistics graduate students in The Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health and graduate students in biostatistics at the Medical College of Virginia (my PhD almamater).

In addition to helping over 100 students obtain a graduate degree in biostatistics, the KEP BASS Endowment in the GSU Foundation and the KEP BASS Endowment in the MCV Foundation, each has in excess of $400,000 to assist future students.
