The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office has received complaints today of another scam attempt. The caller claims to be a deputy from the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and states that the person is being fined $500 for failing to take a DNA test.
The caller further states that due to the Corovavirus no one can come to the office and instructs the person to get a $500 cash card and call back once he has the card.
The number given, 912-642-0935, has a voicemail recording identifying the number as the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Citations and Warrants Division.
The Sheriff’s Office will never contact anyone via telephone, email, text, or social media to conduct any official business where payment is requested.
Please be alert to these scams and never give out any personal or financial information via these outlets to someone claiming to be a Bulloch County Deputy.
