The Sun Belt Conference has unveiled the 2024-25 women's basketball conference slate. The 18-game league slate begins on Sunday, December 29 when the Eagles host Louisiana and all conference games are scheduled to be played at the new Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center.
The slate also includes dates for the two games in the previously-announced MAC/Sun Belt Challenge. The Eagles will play at Ohio to open up the regular season on November 4, then host a MAC opponent on February 8. That matchup will be announced in January.
The Eagles will play six of eight league games on the road in January, beginning with a swing at ULM on Thursday, January 2, and at Arkansas State on Saturday, January 4. Georgia Southern then visits Georgia State on Wednesday, January 8, and James Madison on Saturday, January 11. Texas State will then come to Statesboro on Wednesday, January 15, followed by Georgia State on Saturday, January 18. The Eagles travel to Marshall on Wednesday, January 22, and Appalachian State on Saturday, January 25, before wrapping up the month by hosting James Madison on Wednesday, January 29.
February begins for the Eagles with a home date against Marshall on Saturday, February 1. A quick trip to Southern Miss on Wednesday, February 5 comes before the MAC/SBC Challenge on the 8th. Georgia Southern will then host Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, February 12, and South Alabama on Saturday, February 15, which will be a doubleheader with the men's team.
The final road trip of the regular season sees the Eagles at Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, February 19, and at Old Dominion on Saturday, February 22. Georgia Southern plays the final week of the regular season at home, hosting Appalachian State on Wednesday, February 26, and Old Dominion on Friday, February 28, another doubleheader date with the men's team.
The 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships will take place on Tuesday, March 4 through Monday, March 10 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla. All 14 teams will advance to the tournament in 2024-25.
The non-conference schedule for the Eagles will be announced later this month.
