Mrs. Mary Frances “Frankie” Bailey Rathmann Kruse, age 98, died on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 at her home in Statesboro. Frankie was born on August 16th 1926 in Bulloch County to the late James Oscar Bailey and Bertha Nessmith Bailey. She was raised in Statesboro and was a 1944 graduate of Statesboro High School. Frankie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking care of others, making clothes for her grandchildren, and spending time with family. She was also a Sunday school teacher and devoted member at Bible Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kruse, her sisters, Cleo Odom and Dot Butterworth, and her brothers, Henry Jackson Bailey Sr., Charles L. Bailey, and Herbert H. Bailey.
She is survived by her four children, Cheryl Smith, Jorja Shelton, James Fredrick Rathmann, and Kenneth Andrew Rathmann, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren, her sister, Annie Wildenradt, and her brother, James E. Bailey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Russell Rogers officiating.
Interment will be at Brannen Family Cemetery.
