Albert Wilson

Albert Wilson, Sr., of Metter, passed away early Monday, January 13, 2025, at The Gardens Senior Living in Statesboro.

Mr. Wilson was born in Savannah and moved to Metter at a young age, where he was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Ola Brown Wilson. He spent the rest of his life in Metter, building a career as a Commercial Truck Driver. Over the years, Mr. Wilson worked for several companies, driving coast-to-coast and later locally for FedEx, B&T Oil, and Evans Concrete.

In addition to his passion for driving, Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing, traveling to the mountains, tinkering in his tool shed, and classic cars.

He was preceded in death by his son, Albert Wilson, Jr.; his grandmother, Ola Brown Wilson; and his uncle, Joe “Bird” Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Bradford, and her husband, Bruce; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hutcheson; grandson, Cody Adams, and his wife, Sandra; great-grandchildren, Aiden Adams and Addison Adams; mother of his children, Betty Wilson; two sisters, Pauline Fountain and Carolyn Henley, and her husband, Jeff; a brother, James Crooms and his wife, Jean; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 6 until 8 pm at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 2 pm at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, of Metter.
