A man has tragically lost his life after being hit by a car in Bulloch County on the evening of Friday, September 20, 2024. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM on Kyle Sorrell Road near Chance's Trailer Park.
Emergency services, including Bulloch County EMS, Fire Department, Sheriff's Deputies, and Georgia State Patrol Troopers, were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call. According to the preliminary crash report, the victim, an approximately 65-year-old male, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a Ford Escape SUV. The driver of the SUV reported not seeing the man, who was dressed in black, until the collision occurred.
The critically injured man was rushed to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The section of Kyle Sorrell Road where the accident took place was closed for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
As of now, the identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. Trooper Isaiah Francois of GSP Post 45 is leading the investigation into the fatal accident.
