The Statesboro Regional Art Association (SRAA) hosted the kickoff for its annual Small Works Holiday Market on November 8th, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rosengart Gallery, located off W. Main Street. The event was a fantastic opportunity for community members to meet local artists and celebrate their work as they came together to launch the month-long market.
Featuring a variety of small, unique art pieces, this market is perfect for holiday shopping. All works are created by talented, local artists, who are members of the SRAA. Sally Minton, Vice President of the SRAA, expressed her excitement about helping community members find the ideal locally handcrafted gifts.
"We're thrilled to offer a fresh shopping experience this year," Minton said. "We recently acquired glass shelves from Habitat for Humanity. They were having trouble getting rid of them, and they were perfect for us! We worked out a deal, and now we have a stylish way to display smaller art pieces, giving buyers a more traditional shopping experience."
By purchasing unique, handcrafted pieces, you’re not only supporting local artists but also helping preserve cultural heritage and fueling a vibrant arts scene in our community. Plus, you'll take home one-of-a-kind artwork that adds a personal touch to your home.
While the grand opening was on November 8th, the Small Works Holiday Market will be open during regular gallery hours through December 21st. This gives you plenty of time to find that perfect gift!
You can find a complete schedule for the Holiday Market, along with many more upcoming cozy events to celebrate the season, on the Grice Connect Events Calendar.
As you begin your holiday shopping, consider the many benefits of supporting local businesses and artists. Shopping locally strengthens your community, reduces your environmental footprint, and offers a more personalized, meaningful experience.
This holiday season, let’s make a conscious choice to shop local, support our neighbors, and create lasting memories. Together, we can spread extra holiday cheer and make a positive impact.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a rewarding local shopping experience!
