For years, the Statesboro Food Bank has been a beacon of hope for individuals and families facing food insecurity in the region. It has stood as a safety net, ensuring that nobody goes to bed hungry. With a dedicated team and volunteers, the Food Bank collects and distributes essential food items to those in need, offering them a chance to overcome their hardships and maintain their dignity.

Recently they have encountered a pressing challenge that threatens its ability to fulfill its mission, and they need YOU! Prices of gas and groceries are high, and many families have just made it through back to school expenses. The Food Bank is needed more than ever, but they are running low on stock. The need is urgent.

The Statesboro Food Bank has stood as a symbol of hope, unity, and compassion for the community it serves. Now, with this unprecedented crisis that calls for an equally unprecedented response. By coming together through donations, both in cash and kind, we can ensure that the Food Bank continues to be a lifeline for those who need it most. Here a list of some items they would greatly appreciate. Keep in mind anything non-perishable would be helpful, as well: 

Canned vegetables of all kinds

Green Beans, Baked Beans, Sweet Peas

Canned Fruit

Canned Meats

Tuna, Chicken, Vienna Sausage, Spam

Boxed Sides/Dinners

Rice a Roni, Pasta Sides, Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper

Powdered Milk

Grits, Oatmeal

(Brown Sugar is nice for unsweetened Oats)

Even Ramen Noodles!

The Food Bank is located at 400 Donnie Simmons Way in the old Julia P. Bryant school building. They are open for donations Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am-3pm.
