The beloved Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair will return to Statesboro the week of October 16, 2023. After moving to Saturday morning last year, the parade will return to its traditional Monday afternoon time this year to kick off Fair Week.
This year's parade theme is Carnival Lights & Country Nights, and you can find full information about participating in the parade here. The Georgia Southern Homecoming Parade will be combined with the Fair Parade this year, too.
Tickets for the Fair will go on sale October 1. Tickets are $8 if purchased in advance online or $10 at the gate. Children 5 and under are FREE! Tuesday will also offer free admission for seniors "65 or better."
Hours for the fair this year are as follows:
- Monday: 6 PM-12 AM
- Tuesday: 4 PM-12 AM
- Wednesday: 4 PM-12 AM
- Thursday: 4 PM-12 AM
- Friday: 4 PM-1 AM
- Saturday: 12:00 PM-12 AM
The ticket windows will close at 10PM Monday-Thursday and Saturday and at 11PM on Friday.
On top of the usual favorite rides, exhibits, food stalls, and Pancake House, Kiwanis has a variety of exciting entertainment acts planned. This year, those will include All American Pig Racing, Andy Roth's Wild West Show, Carrie McQueen, Mr. Puppet, the Flying Pages, Ryan Gothrup, and The Swingin' Medallions.
Money raised at the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair stays in Bulloch and several surrounding counties including Jenkins, Tattnall, Screven, Candler, Bryan, and Evans. Funding is provided to many nonprofits that serve these communities. Some of these nonprofits include hospice programs, United Way, schools and school programs like FFA, senior centers, law enforcement agencies, and many more.
