The Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) recently demonstrated its commitment to the local community with a generous $10,000 donation to the Southeast Bulloch High School chapter of the National FFA Organization. This substantial contribution highlights Hyundai’s investment in the region’s future workforce and its ongoing efforts to build strong connections with the communities it serves.
During the check presentation, Joe LaMuraglia, head of communications and public relations at HMGMA, emphasized Hyundai’s desire to be a “good neighbor.” He explained that the company reached out to schools across the area to determine where its financial support could make the greatest impact.
“This donation is an investment in the students and the future of this community,” LaMuraglia shared.
The funds were provided by Hyundai’s California operations as part of a nationwide initiative to support education and career readiness. Southeast Bulloch’s FFA chapter plans to use the donation to enhance its agricultural education programs, benefiting both students and the larger community.
According to the company, Hyundai’s vision extends beyond manufacturing vehicles; it includes cultivating opportunities for students who may one day be part of the company’s workforce. LaMuraglia pointed out that students in middle school today could become part of the 8,500 jobs the company is creating at the facility by 2031.
This donation is part of Hyundai’s larger mission to support education, economic development, and sustainability. Nationwide, Hyundai’s operations contribute $20.1 billion annually to the U.S. economy, including the efforts of its 835 independent dealers and several state-of-the-art research and development facilities. With its new Bryan County plant, Hyundai is set to expand its reach even further, creating direct jobs and boosting local economies.
The Southeast Bulloch FFA chapter plays a vital role in preparing students for careers in agriculture, science, and technology. By partnering with organizations like FFA, Hyundai is helping to ensure the next generation is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market.
LaMuraglia says Hyundai’s philosophy, “Progress for Humanity,” is a driving force behind its actions. The donation to Southeast Bulloch High School reflects Hyundai’s dedication to supporting education and fostering innovation while strengthening its ties to the community.
“We’re part of the community, and we’re here to help it grow.” LaMuraglia said.
