The Statesboro-Bulloch County Library hosted its first Fort Night (not the game) event on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
The library provided a pack of three flashlights, free books, and reusable water bottles for families who participated, and fort-building materials were on-hand as well.
Families planned how to build the best fort as they taped, pinned, and clipped their way toward the transformation of the library to a vast campsite.
The staff was pleased with the turnout, as they continued to welcome newcomers well after the posted start time. At 4:30pm, Cindy Hatchell, Manager of Youth & Family/Assistant Library Manager, turned out the lights in the children's section, and all were delighted as they began to read with the help of their headlamps and flashlights.
