The Friends of the Library Bookstore will be celebrating its second anniversary on Saturday, October 21, with a buy one, get one book sale, along with free coffee and treats.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 2 years since this little gem of a bookstore opened in downtown Statesboro. Book lovers in the area know this is THE place to find used books with an ever-widening assortment of fiction, non-fiction, children's, classics, young adult, and more.

Since its inception, the bookstore has sold thousands of books, and equally taken in as many donated books from generous community members. Donations of bookshelves from individuals in the community as well as from libraries across the region have allowed the bookstore to add several more rows of books to the bookstore.

Founded over 30 years ago, the Friends of the Library previously held book sales inside the Statesboro Regional Library as a way to raise money for the library. In the Fall of 2021, they opened their current book store downtown.

Staffed by volunteers, the book store relies on donations from the public and also includes some excess from the Statesboro Regional Library. The bookstore carries a wide selection of books including children's and adult books, as well as cookbooks, nonfiction, audiobooks, and more.

The bookstore accepts donations in good, clean condition during business hours.

Follow their Facebook page for regular updates.

Store Hours: Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-1pm

Located at 6 Proctor St., Statesboro (in the old Maxway shopping center, across the street from The Statesboro Herald, under the green awning).
