Freedom Through Recovery's 'Expanding Horizons' to spotlight opioid misuse prevention and recovery

Freedom Through Recovery: Susan Ford Recovery Community Organization, with funding by the Department for Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, is partnering with Averitt Center for the Arts to produce “Expanding Horizons: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges” at Connection Church (1342 Cawana Road) in Statesboro on Friday, August 9th from 6pm to 8pm.

An evening of speakers, art projects, great food and music, “Expanding Horizons” will raise awareness of opioid misuse prevention and recovery in our community, with speakers from law enforcement, the medical community, government, and behavioral health.

The Ripleys will be playing music, and Carribean Feast will provide the first 100 meals free to participants. The Averitt Center for the Arts will host art activities for the entire family throughout the duration of the event.

Come experience change in the making, while enjoying an evening of art, music, food and speakers. The event is FREE.

Freedom Through Recovery: Susan Ford Recovery Community Organization’s mission is to empower people to find their pathway to recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. The vision of the organization is to restore families and build recovery-friendly communities.
