DUBLIN, GA (April 3, 2024) – In a recent partnership with the Leadership Bulloch Class of 2024, Fostering Families, located in Statesboro, Georgia, received a grant from the Morris Bank Community Foundation for $15,000. These funds will be used to construct a new student cabin on the Fostering Families property to house up to 24 students and chaperones for their summer camps and year-round activities.

As a non-profit, Fostering Families provides a Georgia-wide vision to share hope and the love of Christ with children and families in foster care and crisis situations. The ministry began in Bulloch County and now impacts children across the state by meeting material needs and providing lasting memories for kids in foster care. The fundraising effort for this construction began as a class project of the Leadership Bulloch Class of 2024. In conjunction with the funding from the Morris Bank Community Foundation, the class raised enough funds to complete the construction project thanks to the generosity of many community members and leaders.

“Partnerships with organizations like Morris Bank and Leadership Bulloch have made the 7th Mile Farm possible,” said Chris Yaughn, Director of Fostering Families. “They allow us to focus on serving our children in foster care through summer camps and helping meet their material needs year-round.” With summer camps quickly approaching, Chris left an open invitation for anyone wanting to get involved in the organization and events to reach out. “If you’re interested in volunteering to help make these camps possible, we would love to see you there.” Visit [www.fosteringfamiliesga.com]www.fosteringfamiliesga.com and select “Get Involved” for more information.

“The Morris Bank Community Foundation is thrilled to be a part of this project, and we know it will help to make a substantial impact in the lives of children in Bulloch County and across the state,” said Whitney Kilgo, Executive Director of the Morris Bank Community Foundation. This foundation was formed in 2017 and exists to help support and sustain local organizations within the communities they serve. Simply put, Morris Bank wanted to give back to the communities that have allowed them to grow. Through this program, financial grants are awarded to strengthen and support organizations such as local schools, community and faith-based institutions, government institutions providing public services, non-for-profits and other 501(c)(3) organizations.
