Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office arrests three in multi-agency drug trafficking investigation

Narcotics seized in drug arrests.

A month-long investigation led by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Team, in collaboration with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), has resulted in the arrest of three individuals accused of trafficking large quantities of narcotics across the United States.

According to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor Jackson of Ellabell, GA, and Steven Kimbrell of Ludowici, GA, were under surveillance for traveling to Los Angeles, California, to purchase significant amounts of narcotics. The suspects were reportedly transporting the substances back to Bulloch County for local sale and distribution.

The investigation culminated on December 12, 2024, when law enforcement intercepted a vehicle operated by Jackson within Statesboro city limits. The operation, which involved the Crime Suppression Team and DEA Special Agents, uncovered over 150 pounds of marijuana and Schedule I narcotics inside the vehicle. Authorities also apprehended John Shannon of Ellabell, GA, during the interception.

Two days later, Kimbrell was located in Long County and taken into custody by deputies from the Long County Sheriff’s Office. He was subsequently transported to Bulloch County for processing. A further search linked to Shannon led investigators to seize an additional 8 pounds of marijuana and Schedule I narcotics prepared for distribution.

All three suspects—Jackson, Kimbrell, and Shannon—are currently held at the Bulloch County Jail, awaiting court proceedings.

Sheriff Noel Brown expressed gratitude for the cooperation and assistance of multiple agencies, including the DEA, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Department of Homeland Security, and the Long County Sheriff’s Office. “This case demonstrates the dedication and collaborative efforts of our local and federal partners in combating drug trafficking,” Brown stated.
