Bulloch County Schools wants its more than 2,400 employees to be happy and healthy. To support them, the district will host its Third Annual Benefits & Wellness Fair on Monday, March 10, at Mattie Lively Elementary School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Held on a student holiday when teachers and staff have an in-service day for professional training and planning, the drop-in event will help empower them with resources to promote well-being in all aspects of their personal lives too.
“Our employees are the heart of our school system, dedicating their careers to shaping the future of our community’s children,” said Alli Baxter, chief human resources officer for the district. “This event is one way we can give back to them—supporting their health, growth, and overall well-being so they can continue making a difference in students’ lives. Investing in our employees not only strengthens them as individuals but also enhances the quality of education we provide.”
The community has stepped up to support its public education employees as well. More than 40 vendors are part of this year's event. Each offers valuable insights and services for improved financial, psychological, social, spiritual, physical, occupational, environmental, and intellectual wellness. Employees will have access to information, certain on-site services and screenings, giveaways, vendor-sponsored gift cards, as well as a free catered lunch available for dine-in or grab-and-go.
As the county’s second-largest employer, Bulloch County Schools remains dedicated to being a workplace that values and retains its employees. The district offers a highly competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement accounts, and supplemental insurance options such as cancer, life, and disability coverage. Employees can also earn wellness incentives and rewards through the State Health Benefit Plan, with additional funds available for out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Beyond traditional benefits, the district recognizes the importance of work-life balance and mental health support. Employees and their dependents (up to age 26) have access to a free Employee Assistance Program, offering up to three consultations with professionals in mental health, legal, financial, and work-life counseling. Additionally, the district provides free annual health screenings, flu vaccinations, and one-on-one insurance consultations to help employees navigate their healthcare options.
Bulloch County Schools believes that happy, healthy, and well-supported employees are better equipped to serve students and contribute to a thriving school community. Those interested in joining the district’s dedicated team can explore career opportunities at www.bullochschools.org/jobs.
