All eyes will be on the bullseye this May, as top collegiate athletes from across the country take aim at the national archery competition.
USA Archery is bringing the Collegiate Target Nationals to Statesboro on May 18 to 21.
“The Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) at Georgia Southern University is honored to serve as host to the country’s elite collegiate archers and their supporters,” said Matt Horst, director of the SSEC.
The nationals will feature competition across the recurve, compound, barebow and fixed pins divisions. The event includes individual qualification round and elimination matches as well as mixed team and team events.
The championship event will highlight USA Archery’s grassroots initiatives to grow the sport and develop competitive archers.
“Hosting this event allows us to introduce more people to our unique facility and further our goal of being an educational resource for the region, state and now, country,” said Horst.
The top collegiate archers in the nation will be earn medals in all events. USA Archery will also present the following awards:
- National Team Championship
- All-American Team
- All-Around Archer of the Year
- Coach of the Year
