On June 21, Food Lion, located at 325 Northside Drive East in Statesboro and 155 S. Leroy Street in Metter, invites customers to come together and celebrate their extensive remodel. Food Lion acquired the former Bi-Lo stores and rebranded them to Food Lion in 2021.
A ribbon cutting will take place at 7:45 a.m. to celebrate the re-grand opening of the stores and the fresh new changes each has to offer.
The first 100 customers in line at both stores will receive a mystery gift card valued up to $250. Through June 24, each store will distribute a free giveaway to the first 100 customers each day.
“Our stores have undergone significant enhancements to better serve our customers since they opened about two years ago,” said Meg Ham, President, Food Lion. “This includes a fresh new look and feel and convenient grab-and-go options that make every meal easier. We remain committed to providing low prices every day through great promotions and various opportunities to help our customers save. We’re excited for our neighbors to experience our low prices and the improvements we made with them in mind.”
The remodeled stores feature an all-new look, extensive product assortment, a wide variety of affordable and easy “grab-and-go” meal options and a great selection of locally sourced items produced or grown in communities around the store.
Customers also have a large selection of affordable organic, gluten-free and plant-based items to choose from, including Nature’s Promise-brand items, which are Food Lion’s brand of wholesome and organic products made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors.
A specially marked Food Lion RV will visit several community locations over the next few weeks, handing out giveaways such as Food Lion gift cards, merchandise, food and other items. Customers can see where the RV will be located here.
Through Food Lion’s hunger-relief platform, Food Lion Feeds, each Food Lion store regularly donates unsold, edible food that might otherwise go to waste to local feeding agencies to support neighbors in need. Food Lion was the first grocery retailer in the country to establish a food rescue program with Feeding America® more than 20 years ago.
To thank community leaders for their support since the stores opened and their patience during the remodels, Food Lion provided store-made catering trays to various local organizations as part of this week’s celebrations.
The hours of operation and specific services offered by each store, as well as the weekly ad flyer with special celebratory pricing for these stores, is available here.
