Georgia Southern's JD Kaiser was named Sun Belt Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Kaiser led the Eagles offense to a 4-1 week, where the Eagles scored 57 runs and secured a sweep over conference foe Marshall. Kaiser slashed .579/.652/.842 to lead the Eagles in all three categories, mashing two doubles and his team-leading eighth homer of the season. He also had two three-run performances during the week and drove in eight RBI, tied for the lead on the week with two other Eagles.
Kaiser had at least one RBI in every contest the Eagles played this week. His 11 hits were the most for an Eagle this week.
The Eagles will return to action on the road beginning on Friday, May 3, when they take on the ULM Warhawks at Lou St. Amant Field. First pitch on Friday is set for 7 p.m. ET.
