December 30, 1935 - April 24, 2024
Reader Williams, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on April 24, 2024. There comes a time for us all to say good-bye, but memories, love, and trust will never die. God entered the hospital room of Reader and whispered job well done. She closed her eyes and peacefully entered into eternal rest.
Born on December 30, 1935 in the little town in Evans, GA, to the late Laura Cassell and Leroy Williams. She received her early education in Bulloch County Schools. Reader relocated in her early 20’s to Fort Lauderdale, FL where she resided until her passing. Her passion for babysitting and her gift for cooking is what those who loved her will always remember. Reader was a faithful member of Solid Rock Worship Center for many years.
Reader was preceded in death by her son, Lee Artis and daughter Leather Ann, long time companion Joe; sisters, Berether, Barbara Neil, Dorothy and Martha; Brothers Leander and Sammie all of Fort Lauderdale, a special aunt, Eva Gordon of Philadelphia, PA.
She leaves to cherish everlasting memories and love Sons, Joe and Charles Williams of Fort Lauderdale, FL, granddaughters, Chinara Williams, Joy Davis, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jymeka Sutton of Virginia adopted Granddaughters X’andria Sutton (Adrian), Tristian Wright both of Columbia, SC, great grand Sons, Chinaud Nixon and Jacarri Taylor both of Fort Lauderdale, FL, great granddaughters, Alexandria Pena of Portsmouth, VA, Jy’ni Isaac and Kayloni Chavarria both of Miami, FL, Janavia Bellevue and Layla Moultry both of Fort Lauderdale, FL, sisters, Aleather Holloway of Statesboro, GA and Shirley Williams of Atlanta, GA, a host of loving, devoted, and sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins , friends, and extended family. Reader's door was always open to family and to know her was to love her.
By her side during her final days were her granddaughters Chinara & Joy.
Reader may have departed this world, but her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A viewing for Ms. Williams, will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday evening, May 13, 2024 at Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
Burial services will be held, at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
